The Athletic
Department of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington
operates within the guidelines set forth by the National
Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Colonial Athletic
Association (CAA). UNC Wilmington, which sponsors 19
intercollegiate sports, has held Division I membership in the
NCAA since the 1977-78 season.
