Intramural Game Nights 

Bi-weekly, the UNCW Esports Club orchestrates engaging game nights in its esports lab, offering a diverse array of video games and tabletop experiences. All UNCW students are enthusiastically invited to join these events. For the latest updates on dates and times, refer to our Discord announcements.

Intercollegiate Competition

In 2023, 2024, and 2025, UNCW proudly hosted an inaugural intercollegiate tournament. The event featured participation from 10 colleges in an exhilarating Rocket League tournament, with plans to expand the gaming repertoire in subsequent tournaments. Witness the expertise of our students who not only organized and managed the tournament but also showcased their broadcasting skills. The event was a resounding success, as captured in the images below.

GameCon 

An annual highlight in southeastern N.C.'s gaming calendar, GameCon is a colossal gaming extravaganza held every spring semester. This grand event encompasses video game tournaments featuring popular titles like Smash and Rocket League, tabletop competitions, Magic: The Gathering tournaments, a marketplace with vendors offering cards, art, and more. Attendees can also revel in a captivating cosplay competition. The magnitude of GameCon is matched only by the fact that it is entirely free to attend, making it an unmissable experience for the entire gaming community in the region.

Leagues and Teams

We have two tiers of teams Varsity and Club. Being on either team has perks. All team members have 24/7 access to our lab. Additionally they all get jerseys. Being on the varsity team offers more support and a coach. Teams usually practice several times per week and compete in tournaments. Its fun and if you want to join, please reach out! We are always looking for new players. You don't need to be the best, you need to be a team player! We compete in several collegiate leagues and our main league is NECC. In 2024-2025 our Valorant team won the NECC Div V and Div IV conferences and the NECC Div IV National Championship

Watch Parties

Join us for UNCW Esports watch parties, where we come together to cheer on our teams and enjoy the biggest moments in competitive gaming. Whether it’s a championship match featuring UNCW Esports or a major pro tournament, these events are all about community, excitement, and shared passion for esports. Everyone is welcome. We usually provide snacks or food, and the atmosphere is always fun and laid-back.
