Hobbies: Spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking,  music, and any and all outdoor/fun activities
Plans after UNCW: Taking a year off to travel multiple places  abroad & gain experience in volunteer PT settings while exploring the world and other cultures, and then pursuing a doctorate degree in physical therapy. I have a huge heart for helping others and a deep interest in children, athletics, medicine, the human body, and people who break typical norms, thus I want to dedicate my life to helping the lives of others. I have high hopes of working in a children’s hospital doing PT with children who have cancer and also working with athletes to help them achieve goals and become better in their sport. I want to see people learn and grow and help facilitate pathways towards achieving what they set their minds to. Why triathlons?: Ever since I raced my first triathlon, I haven’t been able to stop. Being a multisport athlete has been the most incredible and rewarding experience of my college career. It’s such a unique sport that is so raw, beautiful, and challenging.  I love pushing myself to new limits, strengthening my mental toughness, and participating in the process towards achieving my goals. Training constantly and having three different avenues to dedicate myself to is exciting and requires perseverance, and I love every minute of my life as a triathlete. The combination of camaraderie and competition at races lures me in and the numerous outside benefits of triathlons are long-lasting. Current goal: My continuous goal is to improve speed and performance, and to never stop loving this sport. If you don’t love it, there’s no point in doing it. I can’t wait to compete in ironman series races and race a full ironman, want to race in an ITU World Championship, and hope to perform really well at Raleigh 70.3 in June 2013. I’m a strong swimmer, but am continuing to refine and improve my biking and running abilities.

I am Jeremiah (Jeremy) Rowley AKA TRIATHLON DAD. I am a senior State Department after Graduation. In the past I have seved in the United States Marine Corps from 2007-2011.  I started getting into the competitive racing mode during this time-primarily just running races.  I swam competitively in my childhood, so getting into the Triathlon Club was in the cards.  I will hopefully run my first Marathon (26.2 miles) and do my first 1/2 IronMan this year. Currently I am the Travel Coordinator for the Club. I joined the Triathlon Club fall of 2011.  I am anticipating a Dec. 2013 Graduation.

John Capps

My name is John Capps, I’m a Wilmington native and is currently a Senior finishing a B.A. in psychology but I will be around UNCW one more year to finish a Honor Thesis on trauma brain injury (TBI) and conclude my minors in biology and chemistry.  I currently work in two labs. In the UNCW Neuropsychology lab, I am working under Antonio Puente Ph.D. in conjunction with Carolina Mental Health Services, a practice who works closely with soldiers at Camp Lejeune, to complete one of the most extensive data sets on TBI. All lab members also volunteer at Cape Fear Clinic, shadowing psychologists and therapists. In the Aging and Cognitive Training lab, I am currently working on projects looking at exercise and cognition, under Dr. Daniels. I help manage websites for the triathlon club, ACT lab, Neuropsych. Lab, Dr. Puente's private practice, and several others. I am the acting vice president for Psi Chi, the international honor society for psychology students, and love being involved with an awesome group of individuals and the community. When not at school or training, I love to hike, camp, surf, scuba dive, kayak, fish, and anything else involving the great outdoors. After UNCW I plan to go to a clinical psychology Ph.D. program or neuroscience program. After transferring to UNCW from CFCC, I became involved with the triathlon club and last spring completed my first. Since, I have completed 3 others and signed up for my first half Ironman. My next goal after completing it is to go all the way and do a full. Training is a perfect way to melt stress away and make one more focus on their goals. Not only does training help cognitively but it also helps demonstrate the power of attitude and positive psychology.

My name is Pam Creech, and I'm a sophmore double majoring in nonfiction writing and Spanish. I plan on attending journalism school after I graduate from UNCW.  Two years ago, I did my first sprint triathlon with my best friend, and I'm currently training for a half ironman.  I enjoy triathlons because they remind me that hard work makes anything possible.  I also enjoy scuba diving, playing the piano and writing for The Seahawk, the UNCW student newspaper.

My name is Julia Neal, I am a Junior studying Psychology with a concentration in Exercise Science in hopes to one day become a Sport Psychologist. I am from Charlotte, North Carolina. I joined the triathlon club in 2012 and will be the incoming VP for the club. I swam for UNCW for 2 years and am currently training for my first triathlon as well as a half marathon.

My name is Graham Taylor, I'm from Charlotte North Carolina and am currently a sophomore here at UNCW. Besides triathlons, I'm also really into surfing and scuba diving. I plan on majoring in Business Administration along with a minor in Leadership. After college I hope to attend Officer Candidate School for either the Navy or Marines. Triathlons have turned me into a goal oriented person. Instead of choosing to do the bare minimum, I challenge my self all the time to do better than before.  To me, competing in triathlons is all about finding out how strong of a person you really are. In the past I used to always do the bare minimum. Now I  aim to improve on anything I do, and see just how far I can really go. Earlier this month I completed my first Half Iron Man in Key West. The word half is bugging the heck out of me so my goal is to now do a full Iron Man.

My name is Christian Terry, I am a sophomore from Salisbury, NC, and am doubling majoring in Biology and Psychology. I am also taking pre-health classes to prepare myself for medical school. In addition to the Triathlon Club, I am the President and Founder of Wilmington Paranormal Research, am in the Scuba Club, organize and oversee Red Cross Blood Drives, and work as a support advocate at GHA Autism Supports. I have been doing triathlons since I was eight years old. I began with kid’s distanced triathlons and worked my way into sprint, intermediate, half ironman, and finally completed the 2013 Bone Island Ironman in Key West, Florida. Competing in triathlons is the one thing in my life that has always been consistent, and has brought me to become much more spiritual and happy overall. After accomplishing one of the biggest goals of my life, I have set my next one on completing an MDOT sanctioned Ironman.
