Grant Forms and Policies
All graduate students are eligible to apply for Travel Grants. These grants are designed to reward excellence in scholarship and to increase the visibility of the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s graduate programs within the academic community.To determine which grant to apply for, please follow the following steps:
Are you a participant of a conference but not a presenter? You are eligible for GSA travel Grants.
Graduate Student Association (GSA) Travel Grants
The Graduate Student Association provides graduate students with travel grants to attend professional conferences, workshops, or to complete thesis research. Funds are limited and all guidelines are strictly enforced.
This scholarship award is up to $250, in addition, the applicant can acquire extra funds from his/her respective departmental- GSA fund. And, the award cannot be accompanied with the Graduate School Travel Grant. Please submit the applicaton before your travel to the GSA Treasurer. Fund would be reimbursed to the applicant's student account if the applicant is graduate assistant, or check.
Are you a first author or presenter for a conference? You are eligible for Graduate School Travel Grants.
Graduate School Travel Grants
The Graduate School Travel grants support student presentations of original, creative research or projects at a conference. Funds are limited and guidelines are strictly enforced. In the event of limited funds, preference will be given to applications from students beyond their first year of graduate study who did not receive a travel award last year. A student is eligible for only one travel award per academic year. Please submit the applicaton before your travel.
The Graduate School Travel Grant is up to $400, in addition, the applicant can acquire extra funds from his/her respective departmental- GSA fund. For more information, please check out the Graduate School Travel Grant link.
