Matthew A. Birk

I am a graduate student researcher at the University of Rhode Island. In the Comparative Environmental Physiology Laboratory with Brad Seibel, I study the effects of expected ocean acidification on squids.

My main research interests lie in the behavioral ecology of cephalopods. I plan to use these animals as model organisms for my questions about predator-prey interactions, ecophysiology, and other aspects of behavioral ecology.
