Annie Morgan McLeod
Annie Morgan McLeod
Welcome
On October 10, 2009 the sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta, Theta Mu chapter will be hosting their first annual dance showcase in an effort to raise funding for the AMM scholarship. At only 22 years old, Annie Morgan McLeod had her whole life ahead of her. Born and raised in Wilmington, and a graduating senior of UNCW, Annie had big plans for her future, including the continuing of her education at graduate school. Those plans were cut short on March 30, 2008 when Annie was a victim of a drunk driving accident. The passing of Annie had a tremendous effect on her family, friends, sorority sisters and the Wilmington community. The AMM scholarship fund was established to keep the memory of Annie alive and help support an actively involved UNC Wilmington student further their education.
The sister’s of Alpha Gamma Delta are asking for your support and sponsorship for this event. Your generous sponsorship will be highlighted at the event in accordance to your chosen donation amount. (See attached sponsorship packet) Dancing was Annie’s life and passion; it was her way of expressing herself and standing out from the crowd, often times teaching others. Alpha Gamma Delta hopes this showcase will allow the dancers of the Wilmington community to display their talent while promoting a good cause and the memory of an extraordinary woman and dancer. The chapter would highly appreciate your sponsorship and support in their cause. All are encouraged to participate and all are invited to attend.
The showcase will take place at Roland-Grise Middle School at 12 p.m. All local Wilmington dance studios have been invited and encouraged to participate along with many organizations and dance groups at UNCW. Types of dance will include jazz, tap and hip-hop and will include solo and group performances. The audience will be judging the competition therefore the more support the contestants bring, the better their score. There will be a grand prize for the winner along with many raffles and give-aways.
Annie had a special way of touching people’s lives whether through active involvement within Alpha Gamma Delta, competing in dance competitions, or just being a friend when in need. With your sponsorship for this dance showcase, the memory of Annie will live on and she will continue to have a powerful impact on the Wilmington community.
If you would be interested in supporting Annie’s cause and the AMM scholarship fund, please email AMMscholarship@gmail.com. Thank you so much for your care and support.
Sincerely,
The sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta, Theta Mu Chapter
